King George Whiting With Lemon Butter Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 King George whiting fillets (about 150g each)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup plain flour, for dusting
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Pat the whiting fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Lightly dust the fillets with flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the fillets to the skillet, skin-side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  3. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Transfer the fillets to a plate and keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the lemon juice and zest, cooking for an additional minute until heated through.
  5. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the cooked whiting fillets. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
